In U.S. and all western countries, the oral care starts from the age of a child where the primary teeth and their care decide the development of the permanent teeth later. But the care of teeth by children is not easy, until they are trained to do so. For that reason, the dentists in U.S. have a program through which they provide dental care to the children there for free, once every year.

Many dentists take part in this program, and it’s co-ordinated by American Dental Association, and every state branch has its participation in it. It’s called “Give Kids a Smile” program and going to be conducted on Feb 5th, 2010 but ADA is seeking ways and support to extend this program to more than just a day. This program is done every year on the first Friday in the month of February, and the dental team members provide the free dental check-up and care to children from low-income families all across the country.

Selected dental clinicians provide this free dental care as a part of this program, so you can check all the places and clinics nearest to your location by checking ADA site.

There are few sites that provide all the information about free dental work, and inform about any upcoming dental care events.

For the year 2010, there are more than 12800 dentists, conducting 1990+ events to provide dental care, and most of the dental care events are free but a few may ask you to pay, depending on how much you can afford.

The dental professionals count is not limited, and more can join into the program to help the children from low-income families in U.S. to maintain a better dental health. Willing people can also donate to the dental care program to raise the level of care, and help more dentists get involved into this program.
